I’ve been floundering every evening this week as I sit down – usually later than I’d like, pushing 10, 11 or 12 – to write my blog post for the day. I’ve been flipping through my notebook, scrolling through my notes app, trying to find a quick spark. A ready made solution to copy and paste.

But writing takes time… Especially fiction writing, story writing. That’s the kind of writing I want to be doing, but I’m not giving myself the space or time to do it effectively. I’m not giving my brain the nudge every morning to be on the lookout that day for something to write about. I’ve lost my eyes, I’ve slipped in my attention.

I’m going to work to get that back. I’m sorry for another beige set of paragraphs. Another blog post about blog posts.

  1. Broski. This is a marathon. And allowing yourself to write this kind of post is what makes consistency possible and leads to way more (and more good) posts down the line. I say well done. 🙂
